Lilith - Concept Exploration

Lilith - the ghostly and ancient bride of Alecksi. I designed her concurrently with her husband, Alecksi the Dracul. I adored designing her and finding her story through these bluesky sketches. In the game's narrative, she is an ancient demigod who married Alecksi and created a horrific race of vampires, the "Upyr", by accident. She became distraught, neglecting her daughter and her power as a demigod. She entered into an ancient sleep, and the main plot of the game centers around her husband attempting to revive her.

I explored many versions of her, from ethereal to painfully human. I was very interested in her as an emotional character and her dynamic with her family. We heavily incorporated a luna moth motif into her storyline, including easter eggs throughout the game and in her daughter Cecilia's costume design. For Lilith's costuming, I explored a variety of influences, including Byzantine, Babylonian, Greek, Egyptian, and Art Nouveau.

This was also during my transition to Character Concept Supervisor, and by the time I finalized the design I was in charge of many important design decisions on the team.
